Fedora Core 12 Auto Login

I have been sat in front of this PC for hours now trying different ways to get Fedora Core 12 to automatically login.
This hangs it up at the splash screen

etc/gdm/custom.conf

[daemon]
AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=*username*
TimedLoginEnable=true
TimedLogin=*username*
TimedLoginDelay=0

Can anyone point me in the right direction

Please

Cheers Cookie

the gdmsetup seems to be missing in FC. The way you pointed out is the right way to do it, AFAIK: http://www.rootninja.com/gdmsetup-mi...and-fedora-10/

in the default Gdm and fedora -- no
the version of GDM that fedora uses is a hacked "just working-very bacic" version of the not done alpha svn version. gdm is NOT completely wrote nor done . It is a UNDER COOKED cookie .

for auto login use KDE's KDM to boot
KDM can log into Gnome
search the "fedoraforum" for it . There are many posts on that.

There should be some menus on the splash screen, at the bottom. Look in those. There should be a setting for auto-login.
