fedora core 1 shutdown problem
help!
i'm a total newbie, mucking about with fedora core 1 on an old compaq presario laptop (amd K6-2 400Mhz, 160 Mb RAM) and having a load of fun with it. Problem - the system shuts down ok but doesn't power down afterwards, so i've got to hit the power off button - with all the attendant risks of damaging hard disks, etc. Any ideas how to make it power off properly? |
edit your /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file uncomment the line that says
#/sbin/modprobe apm BTW there is no risk of damaging hard disks or anything by switching the computer off when it has shut down. |
