Fedora 9 hangs on an hp nx9110

I installed Fedora 5 on an HP nx9110 and it seemed stable. Then I upgraded to Fedora 9 and it would hang rather randomly. Hang meaning the keyboard and mouse don't respond and the power switch is the only apparent option. Randomly meaning sometime it will run ok until I shut down, sometimes it will run ok for significant periods of time and then hang, and sometimes it will hang just after I log in. I did a complete new install and it behaves the same. I can't associate the problem with any specific activity.
The only stuff I see in /var/log/messages that relates to errors is that b432/ucode5/fw can't be found (which I think relates to the wireless nic) and there's some warnings about no NSS support for mDMS detected and some sig 15 warnings about IA_g_object_get_vallist value being NULL (I think that might be killing a top command).

Any suggestions as to what to look at? Thanks.

Forget Fedora. My experience is that it is the convuluted Distro out there. There are a lot of good distros out there.

Good luck, Michael
