Fedora 6 GUI not coming
I have Fedora 6 in a partition. Few days back in an effort to install SUSE in the other one resulted in my Fedora 6 is not loading through the GUI. It's directly coming to the login prompt saying it's a GDM crash. I can see my data and other folders there but the GUI is not coming. Please help to restore the GUI. I don't want another installation.

Have you tried issuing command:
telinit 5 To put you in graphical mode. If you have internet connection you can also see if it is not a big deal to un-install GDM and re-install it to see if that corrects it with commands: yum remove gdm yum install gdm I just did a mock removal of gdm and yum only needed to remove that one package, doing this may re-configure what is messed up. Just a suggestion. |
Thanks for your suggestion. I will just give it a try.
