fedora 4, errors
 

hey i just installed fedora core 4 and when i click on alot of the system stettings in gnome it comes up with an error and it reads "unknown exit code", i tried downloading amsn's rpm for fedora but i get the same error message,

can anyone help me out?

Before doing anything else, the best thing to do is to update all the software to the latest versions. In a terminal window:

su -c 'yum update'

Enter the root password when prompted.

it doesnt even boot know, but i did the media check and it didnt even get to 2% before it failed, ive tried re-burning the dvd but it fails everytime, i did the sha1sum and the iso checks out...

The Media Check is oversensitive and will fail many valid discs unless you specify an extra option when booting the disc. The Release Notes have a section on this:
