Fedora 3 Update

Installed Fedora 3 from DVD on Raid 5 system with hardware:
MSI K8D Master3-133-FS, AMD8131,Dual-CPU
Socket-940, DDR400x12, VGA, SCSI,2xGbLAN
2* AMD Opteron 248, 2.2 GHz
1* HighPoint RocketRAID 1820A 8P SATA RAID5, PCI-X
4* Western Digital Raptor 74GB S-ATA
1* Crucial PC3200 DDR-DIMM 2048MB CL3 REG,Registered,
ECC/REG, 2.5V, 256Meg x 72

Everything looked ok.

Run the Update
The system made a kernel update to:
Fedora Core (2.6.10-1.770-FC3smp)

It now stops in the boot with:

Red Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while ...
No volume groups found
No volume groups found
No volume groups found
mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
switchroot: mount failed: 22
umount /initrd/dev/ failed: 2
Kernel panic - not syncing: attemted to kill init!

the system is hanging.

How could I make the system work?
Do I need to reinstall Fedora 3 from scratch?

Many thanks for any help!

Hans

Do you still have the option to boot the old kernel in GRUB?

I do not get any selection between versions of the kernel in the boot process, so I do not know how to select the old kernel.
