Fedora 2 update

Hy everybody, I've just installed Fedora Core 2, I managed to do some things there..and it showed me that I cand do some updates, ok I updated on line, and when I restarted, surprize, on the start menu, because I also have XP pro as OS, I can see 2 options of Fedora Core 2, one it seems an updated one, I enterd both, on the old one, everything is as normal, but it boot slower, the new one, boots faster, but as one of the diferences, when i entered fdsik -l, i saw that modified the names of my partions, now they are not hde1, hde2,...they are sda1, sda2, sda3,...so what can I do in this case? At every update will appear another Fedora 2 version?
Thanks...

Whenever you do a kernel update, Grub will add that new kernel to the boot options. You probably should keep at least one older kernel in place to boot to in case things go wrong with your new one. If you get too many or otherwise want to modify your boot options, you can edit your /boot/grub/grub.conf to change the boot sequence or remove options. Word of caution though... I'd save my current grub.conf as a renamed file before I modified anything, in case you want to go back.
