you do know that fedora 17 is DEAD and UNSUPPORTED
and is past it's End Of Life

install the current fedora 20 and in a week or two fedora 21 when it comes out

This claims to be F17:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fedora.mirror/

Not sure how much longer it'll be active or if you'll even be able to install any packages given its EOL status though.

Fedora 17 is OK for now with the original repositories.
( Later you will have have to use links from
http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pu...17/Everything/ ***
and http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pu...ux/updates/17/ *)

{ lex and yacc } :
Open a terminal, and type ...
a) su
... and enter your root password.
b) yum install flex bison
b1) If you want to use flex and bison, you also need to do
yum install gcc-c++
And maybe : yum groupinstall "Development Tools"

Searching a package : yum search <name>
