Fedora 14 i686 (GNOME) live cd wont boot
Good day
I'm so new to linux I feel like a new born baby having to learn everything from scratch :confused: I have an HP compaq 6730b laptop currently running windows7and I would like to load the gnome desktop before I install fedora 14. problem is I cant get the live cd to boot...:o please help??? Are you burn the Live CD right?

yes the cd was burned correctly

You can list the files in your Live cd.

I think I've downloaded the wrong live cd....I have a cetrino core 2 duo cpu and not an i386 cpu...
will download x86_64 live cd and report back if this worked. |

I found the problem. usually when I boot from a cd like windows installation disc i can leave the disk in the cd drive and just press any key to boot from cd. Not so with the fedora live cd. I have to: leave the cd rom tray open press esc for the start up menu press f9 for boot options select boot from upgrade bay close the cd rom tray Boots perfectly! :cool: |
