Fedora 12 x86_64 / ATI driver

I recently installed fedora 12, I have a AMD HD 5670 graphics card but
how do I get a workable driver installed?

First of the 56xx series does not figure on the AMD/ATI website.

I then tried to download this driver, ATI Catalyst™ 9.12 for the 57xx series. The installation did seem to passthrough correctly however once I reboot'ed and tried to run:

glxinfo | less

I got a segmentation fault... So what are my options, the gpu does have full OpenGL 3.2 support, D3D11 and OpenCL and I want to utilize both GL3.2 and OpenCL on the hardware.

You need to configure RPM Fusion

Then install the packages:
kmod-fglrx
xorg-x11-drv-fglrx

Ubuntu and Kubuntu both have an option to install the proprietary drivers right after installation. Thus far they are the only ones who work.

Press Ctrl+Alt+F1
Login as root & run:
Quote:
# init 3
# system-config-display
Reduce your screen resolution or change the monitor type.

Return back to GUI with:
Quote:
# init 5

I also recommend you try the xf86-video-ati driver. It's open source and supports 3D.

Not for his card. It only supports 2D modesetting (not even 2D acceleration).
