Fedora 12 - install or upgrade and what about data

Is it safe to upgrade from Fedora 11 to 12 or is it best to do a clean install.

If I do a clean install what should I back up to restablish my environment on 12 without having to reconfigure everything again?

If I backup my home user directory is it simply a case of overwriting the new home user directory in the new install?

what if some of the configurations in all those hidden .<directory> (read as dot followed by name) subtley changed.

Thanks for any advice

It's best to install.
Back up the data.
You'll have to reconfigure regardless, so save whatever scripts you think will hwlp and port them over.

Upgrading Fedora 11

I ended up upgrading using the pre-upgrade package provided by Fedora.

So far everything seems to be running smoothly

fingers crossed!
