Fedora 10 Login Screen Loop
After I input correct login credentials, the screen displays a blank screen and cursor, what normally happens during a login. But then I am returned to the login screen. I have logged in sucessfully before, but after installing Qt packages this problem arose. I did a console login, and uninstalled it, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling kdm and kdelibs. I also tried using gdm, and had the same problem.

Login to a text shell and do a "df -h". It will tell you the disk usage. kde and gnome fail to start when your disk is full. Delete some files if your disk/home partition usage is close to 100% and try again.

I don't think that's it... I ran the command at the partitions had less than 50% used.

Can you "startx"? (remember...be in runlevel 3) -C |
I tried to start in runlevel 3 via the init command, but it froze at "setroubleshootd". So, then I tried just startx, which didn't work, it led me to a grey screen with a mouse pointer.

Reboot in runlevel 3 and type. Code:
root@host# system-config-display |
