Hi everyone
I'm Nuno from Portugal
its my first post here and I joined this forum because I've recently become a full member of the Linux club
I switched to linux 5 months ago I chose Fedora as my distro and until now I'm not regretted
Its very rare going to windows even that I keep an installation on my now secondary hard drive
I only resource to windows when I want to play some game or something specific
But what I notice and actually pisses me a bit in this wonderful new world of open software is the fact that fedora is incredible slow
I think that the developers behind all this wonders really should put the eye candy improvements aside and focusing on making linux and fedora in particular faster
For example I've installed Skype for linux and after starting a conversation with someone I immediately start to have HUGE lags we are talking about 30 second lags !!! As soon as I switch to windows.. its gone
Another example, transferring a file to an external USB 2.0 hard drive is much much faster in windows, twice as fast
Pretty much everything is faster in windows... this is unacceptable
Linux was supposed to be faster no?
can anyone explain why is this ?
thank you all
