fedoara core 4 + automatic disk set up

when you choose "automatic disk set up " for fedora core 4

you get this

http://img158.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fedora4ml.jpg

i see, there is the option "keep all partition and use existing free space"

do i need to select this option ?

see, i have C:\ (windows) , D:\, E:\ and F:\ // these are the partion i made when i installed XP ...so probabily there is no free unformatted space ...is not it ?

so, where the linux is going to be installed then ? i guess there is no free space.

does it mean, i have to insert XP cd again and delete the partion F:\ and make an unformatted free space for the Fedora core linux ?

do i have to delete my partition with XP cd and choose this option ?

The installer will tell you if you have free space, if you can keep what you have and use free space that'd be good (as long as there is enough)

You can use the fedora partitioner to remove partitionsif you need, it'd be quicker. But remember, onces it's gone, consider it gone so backup before you do it, and don't go resizing partitions that haven't been defragged etc.

Ok...how much is that "enough" ? 2GB ? 3GB ? how much free space is good ? but remember, i may wish to add few external softwraes also after this Fedora 4 installation.

ok...but at the installation time i wont get the "fedora partioner" is not it ?

Anyway,
my F:\ has alomost 10 GB.
i have the XP cd as well. if i boot with XP CD and do these steps as below...

1) Delete F:\
2) create F:\ with size 5 GB
3) rest 5 GB be kept free unformatted for linux installation.

will this be OK ?

i am comfortable with this approach.....please tell me whether it would work or not ?
