Fc8 Doesnt See My Dvd Drive
 
i ran fc4 until my computer got out of date , i got a new one with fc8 and was updating everything i could ..after upgrading a bunch of things i rebooted and found that my mp3 player cd/dvd drive and camera werent being recognized i put in my fc8 dvd and rebooted and it booted from the dvd so i know that the drive is working and that the problem is in my O/S ... any help?

did you have a disc in the drive?

did you look at the fstab to see if it was there?

yeah i had my fc8 install dvd in there and it didnt see it i got it
i got it to recognize it again though i just booted it from the dvd (because the bios sees the drive but not fc8) and ran the rescue it works perfectly again
