FC6 Install Locks up

I am trying to install FC6 on my rather old system, but I keep running into the same system lock-up every time.
My System:
~xp2200+
~512 MB RAM
~2 x 80 GB SATA drives (NOT raid)
~1 x 60 GB IDE drive

I have the IDE drive set up as a windows drive, I want one of the SATA for FC6 and the other set up as a vfat that I can write/read (easily) from both sides.
Some of the above info may be not necessary, sorry.

My Problems:
I can go through the setup options and configure as I want, but after the dependency check has been done and it winds up the CD to start install, but nothing happens. Later (like a few seconds, the cursor locks up and now even less is happening. I can boot up a knoppix and see all the drives, and up to this point there is no indication something is wrong, so I am probably doing something wrong. But I tried FC5 and Suse 10.1 all with no issues so I am open to suggestions cause I am outta ideas.
Thanks again

Did you try doing a text install rather than graphical?
