I'm using Fedora Core 4, and I've had to reformat a couple of times because there were so many dependency issues I couldn't do anything, so I just reformatted my drive and did a full install (every package on the FC4 DVD installed). Every previous time I've installed, my iPod was automatically detected and a shortcut to it was put on the desktop. This time, something is different. I have it connected via IEEE1394, and the iPod is being charged (it has the charging icon on the screen), but it doesn't sense that it is connected to a computer (it doesn't have the "Do not disconnect" message on the screen). I ran a script
that detects SCSI devices and it didn't pick up any new devices. I looked in /dev and I didn't see sda2 (which the iPod was detected as in my previous installations). Does anyone have any idea how I could get my iPod detected?
