FC3 freezing after 3-5 mins of use
 

Hi,
First off, a new linux user here & just built an AMD64 bit with Abit Av8 mb 1M of ram. Installed FC3 64 bit without any problem. But the problem starts whenever I am 3-5 mins of use of linux after booting. No matter what I do & and it freezes faster when ever I trying to surf or on the web.

Really have no clue how to start debugging this problem but it is really annoying. Also have already tried to do a fresh reinstall more than a couple of times but same results. Please help and if you need more info, I will be very happy to provide.

Heat problem, maybe? Try running it without the cover off and see if it helps. I'd also suggest bad RAM, but usually it doesn't fail so regularly.

You got problem in X (GUI) or it also conitinue with command line? To goto command line from grub type
linux 1 (Press e, select 2nd line, press e and goto end of line type linux 1)
Once at prompt type
init 3

It will come to 3rd run level wait for 10 min if no problem then mostly GUI is problem. Also see
tail -f /var/log/XFree86.0.log
