I am using Fedora Core 3 and have a question about Add and Remove applications. Hope you guys give me some clues. There are many installed programs in FC3 which I don't need (e.g KOffice, KEdit, .. and some media players which don't work). I opened the Add and Remove Applications in FC3, unchecked those programs and proceeded, but it said that there were some files (packages) which were missing and "the installation" can not proceed. I don't know what to remove them. Anybody can show me how, please?

The second question is I installed FC2 before, and then I changed to FC by doing a fresh installation. The stupid thing that I did is I installed FC3 in another partition and the old FC2 partition is still there. Now I need some room and don't know how to re-config the / or /usr or something to re-use the forgotten partition.

There is a rpm utility you can use to force package removal. However, you are very likely about to break your KDE installation this way. Better way might be to remove entire KDE and replace it with something else. I'm not sure but there may be a "light" version of KDE. Which means you can install the base and add the apps you need/want. (KDE is a bloat in my opinion, using Gnome-Light myself).
You can mount your unused partiton to any point in your existing filesystem. For instance /home/user/storage. Simpliest way to do it is to edit /etc/fstab by hand. FC may have some GUI tools for it.

To manage software in Fedora Core, it is best to use Yum. Here's a Fedora tutorial on Yum.
