If I choose the earlier verions (2.6.5-1.358) everything works fine.
This frustrates me. I have been into the network settings and changed the cable and the same thing happens.
I changed the cable and only once was I able to connect to the net using the 2.6.10 version.
Can someone please tell what the problem could be?
Thanks so very much.

Sorry Michelle, just trying to remember what I have to do when I loose stuff like that.
If you only have the one network card then if you do
you should see the ip address that your system is running at, it should be in the same range as what your router is set to (e.g. if your router is set as, say, 10.0.0.1 and you set the system/network card - probably eth0, to 10.0.0.2) which should show up in the results for the ifconfig command.
Also, is it possible that the upgrade has changed some other network setting like your service is a static one and the system has managed to change that to DHCP when you did the upgrade?
Or maybe your setup had a manually set DNS ip address or two and the upgrade has dropped this ??
Sorry, can't be specific, don't like either redhat or their fedora offerings so I'm just "clutching at straws" for ideas that might point you in the right direction.
