Fatal Error - Cannot Resolve


I typed yum -y update i get the following error

[root@localhost] #yum -y update

error: db4 error(-30977) from dbenv->open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

I cannot resolve this error .pls help me

Run
Code:
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db.00?
and try again. If it still doesn't work copy /var/lib/rpm to say /var/lib/rpm_backup, then run
Code:
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db.00?; rpm --rebuilddb
.
