Failure to mount /dev/sda1

I'm having issues mounting a partition.

# mount /media/muzik

Failed to write lock '/dev/sda1': Resource temporarily unavailable
Error opening '/dev/sda1': Resource temporarily unavailable
Failed to mount '/dev/sda1': Resource temporarily unavailable

It's starting to look (from my research) that this is an issue with the hardware (perhaps the drive is dead).

Anyone have any clues?

Thanks!

Maybe it's already mounted ..? ('grep sda1 /etc/mtab')

Try this one.

If you are using Desktop Computer check hdd connection to motherboard or replace hdd connector for example you are using SATA Type
try to replace with new SATA Cable same if you ate using IDE Cable.

And if you are using laptop or notebook also check connection of hdd to motherboard.

Maybe this one help.
