What is ACE? Can you log in using CLI ftp client? If not, what is the error message?

From Google:

If the server rejects the security data (if a checksum fails, for
instance), it should respond with reply code 535.

thank you Emerson and general failure - in answer to Emerson's query - ACE is a free ACE FTP programme - I have no idea what a CLI server is? neither a checksum - I am ignorant of such jargon - ya.com uses Linux as its platform so can i transfer .html files created on Dreamweaver?

Is it the client (on your computer) or the server (on the one you're connecting to)?

CLI = Command Line Interface.
In Windows, that'll be DOS prompt, in Linux it'll be any one of the shells.

There's no reason in that sentence why not.

OK, here's what we know:
You fail to connect to a particular FTP server using AceFTP.

It may have something to do with your firewall settings or network settings on your LAN router.
To troubleshoot this you'd try to connect to same other FTP server. Can you log in, using your AceFTP, to some public FTP server?
Also, can you log in to ya.com using Windows FTP client?
Furthermore, can you log in on some public FTP server using Windows FTP client?

Frankly, I do not think all this has anything to do with Linux at all. Maybe you should post on some Windows forum instead.
