Failed to download repository information

W:Failed to fetch http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/dists...-i386/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 173.194.34.133 80]
, E:Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

The error message above says it all. What I'd like to know is is there a way to rectify the problem making it possible to get access to that repository or should I just get rid of that entry in my list?

Ken.

Not sure what you expect us to say here... just look at the page yourself... http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/dists...-i386/Packages

I did - the response was "Not found" which is why I asked the question. In short, is it fixable or should I dump it? I really do like Google Earth so, if it is a useful repository, I'd like to try the fix before resorting to dump.

well the repository is gone. doesn't exist any more.

OK! Then "dump" it will have to be. Thank you.
