The thing is that the files is on my mp3 folder but everyone is just 3 seconds long, what have I done wrong?

jollyjoice 02-12-2006 06:21 AM

have you considered opening Konqueror, and selecting the files and doing "copy" then "paste" where you want them?

inverted.gravity 02-12-2006 06:31 AM

I want to use the terminal as much as I can, thats why i changed to linux :)

inverted.gravity 02-12-2006 06:57 AM

It still doesn't work, whether i use the terminal or conqueror. The strange thing is that i have mounted the usb but when drag a mp3 file from the usb folder in conqueror to my mp3 folder it says:

could not read file /media/usb/01-infecte_mushroom.mp3

how come it cant read the file?

Just out of curiousity, what happens if you try to copy a file onto your mp3 player instead of off of it?

Did you mount the mp3 player yourself, or did it automount when you plugged it in? If you run df when it's mounted are the capacity numbers believable or is junk?

The last thing to consider is maybe your particular linux distribution has an aversion to Infected Mushroom... ;)

Hehe yeah maybe :)

Well, it is possible to copy the mp3 files into the mp3player but i cant copy them into the hd from the player, i think it has to do something with the player, im not quite sure, beacouse i can copy files from a normal usb memory stick, but i cant understand why i doesnt work with the mp3 player.

Well it may just be the MP3 player since you are using duct tape to hold it together.

Anyway, I had the same problem with my PSP. It was mounted for a while and I could start to get some files from it, but then all of a sudden I got the same error as you: "Input/output error". It seems that my USB cable is "glapp" (sorry, don't know the english word, it's when the cable works occasionally and you may have to twist it a little).

I wouldn't trust the MP3 player, since other USB memory sticks are working fine.
