But : You did unpack the source package to /usr/src/packages/SPEC/, etc.
.. with # rpm -Uvh elog-2.9.2-1.src.rpm

Please install the downloaded package with zypper :
$ cd Desktop/ ( Or wherever you keep downloaded packages )
# zypper in elog-2.9.2-1.SLE11.i586.rpm

Thanks very much, the installation completed. One of the steps for the software mentions to start the deamon service by using the following command: /etc/rc.d/init.d/elogd start

but i get the following message:/etc/rc.d/init.d/elogd start
/etc/rc.d/init.d/elogd: line 10: /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions: No such file or directory


I can see that /etc/rc.d/init.d contains the elogd in it.

did you have a similar issue, without starting the service, I cannot access the http://localhost:8080
