i'm newbie. i have failed to install openoffice 3 in my slackware, i have used these commandline :
tar xvfz OOo_3.0.1_LinuxIntel_install_wJRE_en-US.tar
-------> the file extracted
cd RPMS/
-------> got comment like "no RPMS"
rpm2tgz *.rpm
-------> got comment like "wrong rpm2tgzipo"
installpkg *.tgz
-------> got comment like "no *.tgz file
how is the right way to install this program ?

There is a better alternative to this

You should try the Slackbuilds from official slackware sources(DVD/sources) and modify the slackbuild script to change the version and make a tgz from that.

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/12...penoffice.org/

You can get 3.0.1 OOo slackbuild script there.
Good luck.
