Red face Facing issues in Wireshark network analyzer

Hi I have Fedora core 6 on my machine, i have also installed wireshark-0.99.3-1.i386.rpm on same machine, when i start taking traces on eth0 or eth1 interface (i tried on both one) i am getting only broadcast messages, that means i am not getting any specific unicast message (For example, RTP or RTCP or SIP)

Does anybody know what could be the problem?

what about using tcpdump from a command line? or even tshark, which would have been installed along with wireshark.

Do you know if your interfaces support promiscuous mode? Have you tried to sniff any traffic that you know is going to your ports?
