F11 key (Not Printing)

I just changed my servers to RH 9 from 7.3.

I run a simulations program in a suite of approximately 15 workstations. I send it out from my server. While the simulation is running you are able to print terrain graphics or text for reports.

The problem is when I try to print during the simulation program using the F11 key or F12 key. Which are the designated print keys in this simulation program. Below is how it works or suppose to work.

The F11 key is suppose to print text only (like a screen capture). After pressing F11 a crosshair is suppose to appear and then you place it on the active window and left click your mouse. Then it is spooled to either a local printer or a networked printer, but the crosshair will not appear when I press the F11 key. A small hour glass briefly appears while holding down the key, but nothing happens.

The F12 key is similar, except it's suppose to print text and graphics, but it also does not want to work or appear.

They work fine in RH7.3, but not in 9.0.

In 9.0 it prints one time and then it will not print again until the machine is rebooted.

Also this printing is done using lpd, because cups does not work with this simulation program.

Can anyone help me?

It seems my problem is actually the keyboard buffer not clearing.

Does anyone no if such a thing can be looked at and fixed?
