EZ-Drive Hard Drive -- Cannot Read Contents

Here's the problem: I took a hard drive out of an old Windows box to use as a backup when upgrading to FC2. It was an old box so I had to use Maxblast to set up EZ-BIOS so that I could use the whole drive.

I partitioned it using ext3 as the filesystem before upgrading and then backed up all my files to it.

After the install, I cannot mount or access the hard drive. Using fdisk, I get the following:

DEVICE BOOT START END BLOCKS ID SYSTEM
/dev/hdb1 * 1 1022 2060347+ 55 EZ-DRIVE

Is there anyway that I can retrieve that data from this drive? I suppose afterwards I should figure out a way to remove EZ-BIOS.

Thanks,

Chris DeGroot

Try appending "hdb=remap" to your kernel command line in either lilo.conf or grub.conf

This worked for me when fdisk was incorrectly displaying a drive's partitions, as EZ_DRIVE
