external hard drive permissions reset
I recently got a few external hard drives and formatted them in /root. After doing so I changed the owner to myself but if I disconnect and reconnect the hard drives the owner is changed back to /root. Also if I keep /root as the owner but give write permissions to all users it resets to just /root having write permissions upon reconnecting the drive. How can I fix this? thanks.
