Extend The Size of /root

Hi Expert,

I am new in RHEL 4.0 , Due some reason i want's to increase the size of /root partition. What is the best way to increase the size of root partition? Please Explain.

why do you need to increase the size of /root?
you would normally use a paritioning program, fdisk, cfdisk, gparted etc.
