.ext2 files and toolchains

hi.

I'm making myself a boot floppy. But i want to use uClibc on there (for obvious reasons.) So i have to compile everything on the flopy using uClibc right?

Because im lazy (and lack the knowledge) instead of rebuilding my current slackware toolchain with uClibc, i downloaded the ready made toolchain the the i386 cpu architecture.

So it come in a .ext2 file format. I can mount this using "mount root_fs_ /mnt/rootfs -t ext2 -o loop" however it doesnt give me any extra space on that drive so i could copy over binaries, chroot there and compile them using that toolchain.

Now am i going the total wrong way about doing all this or is it a tiny lil' detail im missing out on?

Cheers

Dom
