explore swap partition

I would like to explore the swap partition on my hard drive.
I boot Knoppix live Cd with the noswap cheatcode but then I dont know how to proceed.
If I try to mount the swap partition (hda5) it does not apppear as mount point in /mnt so i cannot mount it.
besides, which program should I use to explore the swap partition and see whats left there?

Thanks.
max

Just use mc to view the raw-device (no mounting).

Cheers,
