Experiencing random freezes with canary errors in /var/log/messages

Hi I am running Oracle linux 6.3 (64 bit) and Experiencing random freezes with canary errors in /var/log/messages

rtkit-daemon[2457]: The canary thread is apparently starving. Taking action.

What is this service?
Why is this random?
Can I stop this service?

Thanks and Regards

I used to get these awhile ago. I agree there is not much out there to identify the problem. I did get the sense they were related to pulseaudio.

I gave up looking for a solution awhile ago. I just search my message logs now and did not find them. I guess a Fedora upgrade resolved the issue.
