exp about FreeBSD installation
the final result:
freeBSD 5.2.1 still doesn't support ICH5 SATA Controller up to partitioning part, the partition can't be proceeded. the harddisk could be be detected although at the start it seemed knowing that HDD. Besides, after this failure, when trying to reboot it seems the boot load of windows changed (maybe that is BSD boot manager) while, this problem was fixed easily by entering fdisk /mbr under DOS. (before this installation attempt, i uninstalled mandrake and the recover of mbr was unsuccessful; the machine would stop where you could see windows login logo. "windows xp", your user logo would not be displayed) |
