executing binary issues

iam running Slackware 10.0 with bash version 2.05b.0 as my current shell and i have a sever issue disabling my ability to execute binary files

executing binnary files in the past have worked flawlessly, but latly with every file i download, the binary files aren't working. I always get a

cannot execute binary file

error message, i have attempted many binary files and still end up with this error message, is my syntax off? i am pretty sure to execute a binary file a user would us a sh command, am i wrong? or is there an error within the shell?

thanks for any help contributed

"sh" is used to execute shell scripts. Binaries are usually executed by just typing the name of the file.
