excepted network issue, what are the all other entries in var/log/message?


excepted network issue, what are the all other entries in var/log/message ? is read/write problems in Queue reports by var/log/message ? for example, or any Queue issue, respected to resource ,hardware or software?

There are numerous programs that cause writes to /var/log/messages.

descendant_command is right...

Put it this way, any prog/daemon that doesn't have its own log writes to messages (in some cases this will happen as a backup option if the reqd dir is not available).
Strictly speaking some other logs are shared as well ... see eg http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2011/08/...var-log-files/
