Evolution sync with gmail problems
I know that there are allot of websites and wikis out there addressing this issue but I find all of them are out of date. When trying to enable IMAP in google, all the wikis tell me to go to setting click on forwarding pop/IMAP, and enable IMAP. The problem with this is I cant find this setting any where. Even google tell me to do it this way in their help sections. They do have a section for enabling IMAP to M$ Outlook but they want me to download an application specifically for Outlook. I tried to find a similar post to mine but I couldn't find any, any help or links will be greatly appreciated.
- 1st there is "Preferences", then E-Mail accounts to be clicked on, then pick your G-Mail account and click "Edit". See the "Account Editor?"
- set the credentials in the first tab, just as you set them when logging into Webmail
Receiving E-Mail:
- server: imap.google.com
- username: should be your username without the @gmail.com domain
- Security?? SSL encryption
- Authentication type: Password (feel free to check the "Check for supported types" button
- the Remember Password decision is on you, I have my selected.
Receiving Options?
- it's your call again, no special commands or selections are required.
All other settings are not relevant to IMAP, except "IMAP Headers", there I am using the Default one to sync fast.

I'm sorry
Sorry I haven't responded... kinda busy with a new problem, as always I'm biting off more than I can chew. As soon as I get Ubuntu 9.10 running I will be working on Evolution again. Thanks for the reply though
