Evolution/GNUcash lightweight alternatives

Can somebody to point me to less resource-intensive apps similar to Evolution/KMail and GNUcash? I don't need 90% of their functionality or a GUI. And I get a woody when it comes to system performance Evolution and KMail are BOTH MTA/MUA, which is what I'm keen on because I don't have time to setup my own MTA just now. GNUcash does a lot of stuff like printing checks that I'll never use, maybe you know an app that doesn't even need X only (try to) keep track of my money. I use (and love) Slackware 9. I use Blackbox but have KDE installed. I connect to an ISP and collect mail from a POP account. Also maybe you can point me to a webpage with good content about low-resource Linux programs...

Well, I use kmymoney2 for personal finance. It is lightweight, and not that fully featured, but I like the look. It does require X though. Don't know of any non x finance packages. I use moneydance, well, my wife and I do for her bussiness, where checks, online, etc is important.

You can try
http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-lin-soft-en/
to find MANY apps, but as for leightweigt, you will have to find that on your own.
