Evolution address book security

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Ubuntu 8.1. Evolution 2.26

I'm using Evolution for email and contacts and have a basic security concern. How can I make the Evolution address book secure (eg encrypt it)? This seems such a basic requirement that I feel I must be missing something. No password is needed to get into Evolution and bingo - all my contacts there for anyone to see (I'm thinking in terms of securing a netbook in the event of it being stolen.)

I have an encrypted volume. I could put the Evolution address book there, but would not know how to have Evolution look there.

Any ideas? A different approach perhaps?

yes, why not encrypt your entire home partition, or even better, the entire disk. You certainly have more sensitive data on your notebook than your contacts...

edit: you could of course put your .evolution folder into your cryptcontainer and then symlink or mount it.
