Question Everything works fine but video..Pls Advice

Hi, I bought A suse Linux week before. Install it in my little old Pentium 233mmx box with 64mb of ram using S3 trio64+ video card.
After few week of struggle I manage to get a beautiful display of 1024x768 and everything seem to be working perfectly. SuSE automatically detected my sound card, its just as beautiful as I expected.

Till, I start to play some movie using Xine. It sucks...the video just wont go smooth. It lag like hell.

Try to change the resolution to 600x800 and it still doesn't work.

Anyone know what's causing the problem?
Any help will be very much appreciated.

how big is this film? a 233 is certainly not fast enough to play a full flying divx movie. you *might* be able to do it using MPlayer with the FFMpeg codecs as they are heavily optimised, and kick Xines ass completely. Xine is pants btw. http://mplayerhq.hu

If you use 24 or 32 bit color try with 16 bit.

Hmm, its not a DIVX, its a VCD, my place...we still stuck with VCD for the moment. Btw, is Mplayer comes with SuSE?

It shouldnt be the processor problem as I can play it pretty well in Windows.

I doubt that MPlayer comes as a standard part of SuSe, and even if it did, it would be more than advisable to get the latest version from their site... from what I've seen it evolves really quite quickly. It seems that quite a few people have problems with MPlayer, but honestly, if you read the docs thoroughly you shouldn't have any problems. Oh, and it's the only player I've come across that plays Windows .wmv files nicely.

Good luck.
