I've just installed RH9 on a Compaq Armada M700. Everything works fine except for one thing. Linux doesn't seem to detect my ethernet card. How can i get linux do detect it? Or, where did things go wrong?
I tried lsipc, it doesn't mention any ethernet card controllers. Does that means linux doesn't see the card, or the card is not actually physically working?

You mean you don't have windows ? You must be very brave man. As for your card, it is certainly not detected by linux. I've heard that there are some problem's with compaq models, and I don't have one .
We'll have to wait till someone using your model or some-one who has solved your problem comes along. I'll try to search for it in the mean-time .
I have the same problem, I have not yet found a solution. The problem persists in windows too. But I think this is a hardware problem, not a kernel or OS problem. The link-light wont ever light up when I connect a cable to it.
