eth0 hangs GUI Centos 4.4 x86_64 on ASUS A8N-M

I installed Centos 4.4 x86_64 with nearly everything (meaning packets).

If the eth0 is running and i use the GUI (GNOME) the GUI hangs after some minutes i lose the mouse and sometimes the keyboard, and i if i try to go to a tty (ctr+alt+1) it goes there but i canīt see it (last GUI image stays), if i stop the eth0 everything works fine.

I tried updating the kernel and the forcedeth driver to 0.60 but same problem.

Im not really sure the problem is in the forcedeth driver, could somewhere else in the networking???

Any ideas???

thanks
Chebi

PD Is there some way to run update program without GUI??
