Eterm Icon
I just successfully installed Eterm but there is no Icon or application to click on the main menu, is that how its suppose to be? if so can I make an icon for it or something because I have to type Eterm on a terminal before I can use it. Thank you.

You have to create the shortcuts yourself.

it would seem to me that the icon would be added automagically after installation if you're using the default desktop...
if you restart X it still doesn't appear anywhere??? the method to manually add icons and entries to the menus differs between window managers and desktop environments... which one are you using??? |

Assuming that it's a package (RPM/deb/tgz, etc... I don't know your distro), you can't assume that the packager knows what DE/WM you're using. Even if shortcuts are created, it's mainly for the "big two" (KDE & Gnome). However, learning to create your own shortcuts shouldn't be too bad now would it? :) |
you're right, azmeen... my bad (way too much assumption about what lramos85 had done)...
=) lramos85, let us know how you installed eterm and on what distro... also, let us know the window manager you are using so as to tell you how to make the appropiate menu entry... for example, if you're using blackbox, the file to edit if you want to add stuff to the menu would be: /etc/X11/blackbox/blackbox-menu |
I used Eterm-0.9.2.tar.gz to install Eterm just the normal tar ./configure and make, and I use gnome 2.2.0, and i don't seem to find the Icon but as long as I can do the shortcut thats good enough for me, I know it might be simple but can you guys tell me how? Thanks.
