/usr/include/libast.h:92:27: pcre/pcre.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [actions.lo] Error 1

hi there,

not much input, but anyway...
which distro? why are you compiling from scratch? any special flag?
i suggest a visit here. if you want to install it compiling everything, make sure to install libast before.
they have even a tgz for slack, rpm, deb, etc. don't see a reason to compile it if you have problems..
