Error while running make install command:banghead:


Hi I am trying to install asterisk on my machine.I am follwoing instructions on a site for now.

So when I run the command make install I am getting following error

[root@kalpana asterisk-1.6.1.4]# make install
/bin/sh: main/version.c.tmp: No such file or directory
make: *** [main/version.c] Error 1

Can someone tell me how can I resolve this error please.

I would suggest you to install all rpms of gcc.
You can run rpm -Uvh gcc* --force --nodeps

Do you have YUM in your system ?

What I would suggest is: Using Add Remove Programs add gcc and development tools.Select ALL
