error when running motion

I ran a program, motion, and had it set to save to an external ntfs hard drive. i am able to create folders on it. when i run the program, it says it saves the file to the drive, then gives off the following error message:

Code:

bash: begin: No such file or directory
any ideas on what this could mean?

Absolutely none. It would help if you gave some information about your system such as what distro and architecture you're using. Also is this the "motion" program that is the V4L capture program supporting motion detection? If not can you tell us what exactly it is an where you got it. Do you run it on the command line? The more information you give, the more likely someone will be able to help you.

I am running a raspberry pi, and I am running that program, via a cli.

And where did you get this program? Is it the V4L one described above? It sounds like you're running a script that is looking for a file called "begin". Is there a man page for motion? Any README file? etc. etc. etc. You are not giving us much information.
