Error when I try to install Linux on my slave drive

I have a 4 Gig hard drive designated as drive D (windows). This drive was low level formatted and has nothing on it. I want to load Red Hat Linux (6.0) on this drive and then have the option to select my operating system at startup. However when I get started on the install, I get an error not recognizing the drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Error or warning and exactly what was it? Warnings about larger than 1024 cylinder or similar can be ignored.

How to get good answers with your questions about Linux

I wouldn't install release 6.0, go for 6.2 or 7.3 for the most stable version or 9.0 for the latest non-beta release of Red Hat.

Windows letter assignments for drives don't designate anything significant in Linux, you have to use the postion in the IDE chain.

IDE1master=/dev/hda
IDE1slave=/dev/hdb
IDE2master=/dev/hdc
IDE2slave=/dev/hdd
