[root@home init.d]# ./httpd start
Starting httpd: httpd: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName

check /var/log/messages and /var/log/httpd/error_log to get the real problem.

Also check that your hostname is set and mapped in /etc/hosts -- I've seen that cause problems before.

hey thanks for the feedback! I had a look in /var/log/messages and couldnt see anything blatant on httpd or apache, and there was literally nothing in error_log.
I checked /etc/hosts and found that my hostname stated was different to my actual hostname, i corrected it, and fixed the problem.
i still get exaclty the same error message, but i get [ OK ] instead! this is only on my internal lan, i have yet to give it a cable connection, are the defaults causing errors? That aside, it works!
